About The Position

As a Sr Technical Trainer with an A&P License, you will develop, coordinate, document, and conduct training programs. The ideal candidates will require an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, to be considered for teaching aviation maintenance and repair, as it signifies the candidate's ability to perform and explain the necessary tasks related to aircraft. The A&P license confirms your expertise in both structural (airframe) and engine (powerplant) aspects of aircraft maintenance. This experience is crucial for you as a technical trainer who may need to adapt to different aircraft types and maintenance situations in an international environment while deployed overseas. You will utilize a consultative approach to facilitate with project leads, clients, Business Area Leaders, and Directors, to analyze Training and Development needs. You will put together multifaceted interventions/solutions that may include Change Management and/or Training Solutions that are unique to the client's particular needs while working with Operation and Program Managers to partner and agree on respective roles, responsibilities, and expected results. You will monitor the training or intervention programs and modifies them as necessary to ensure that all identified needs are being met. These programs will consist of training sessions both onsite and offsite, self-directed study courses, computer-based training, change management, career development, performance management, and individual development planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study.
  • 10 or more years of work experience.
  • Relevant experience beyond 10+ years may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Experience with supporting/addressing customer training objectives.
  • Requires a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Practical instructional experience with hands-on instruction.
  • Strong verbal and technical written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate collaboratively across traditional engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command restriction requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Ability to deploy for a minimum of 90 days to OCONUS operating location.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in technical training, programs, communications, or other operations function.
  • Certification such as CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) is preferred.
