Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. This role will be focused on increasing Kuiper Satellite production rate through vehicle integration, testing and provisioning process improvements in the shape of test systems software automation, change control and operational excellence initiatives. To deliver these complex solutions, you will partner with peers across all Kuiper teams, including hardware, software, manufacturing, quality, launch, test etc. Candidate superpowers should include ownership, insist on high standards, continuous improvement, stakeholder management, innovation, creating clarity out of ambiguity, and enabling productive collaboration.

  • Increase satellite production rate through vehicle integration, testing and provisioning process improvements.
  • Partner with multiple engineering teams responsible for developing test systems and sequences.
  • Create and manage a lean software change control and deployment process.
  • Drive test system automation projects and lead game days to ensure availability of test systems.
  • Advocate on behalf of customers and push back without being adversarial.
  • Tackle challenging, novel situations and solve problems that haven't been solved at scale before.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience owning cross-functional program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership (up to VP level).
  • Experience with software change control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • 3+ years experience in aerospace engineering, industrial engineering, operations management or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
  • 8+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Masters degree in engineering (aerospace, aviation, computer science, electrical, electronics).
  • Experience in test engineering and/or working in aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Experience running game days in preparation for large deployments.
  • High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Experience leading an operational team or organization (manufacturing, fulfillment) to increase throughput and/or drive operational excellence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Base pay ranges from $133,900/year to $231,400/year depending on geographic market.
