The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the Product, Process and Quality Performance functions. The primary accountabilities include setting and delivering a strategy that improves and sustains operational stability in a safe manner along with enhancing productivity through the use of systems and lean tools. The Sr. Technical Manager participates as a member of the plant leadership team reporting directly to the Plant Manager, contributing to the achievement of plant and corporate strategic objectives while meeting the Manufacturing areas internal and external customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study (Metallurgical Engineers or Engineering)
  • Experience as Leader of technical process, product and development groups and projects
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization
  • Creativity and project management skills.
  • New Product Development, managing multiple projects.
  • Desire to take initiative and develop a pro-active relationship with customers through follow-up, understanding their needs and fostering a collaborative relationship.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload; must be able to manage multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid computer skills with software applications proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn new software programs quickly.
  • Must be willing and able to travel (customers, training, vendors, other Novelis Facilities) as needed.
