About The Position
Nintendo of America Inc. is seeking a skilled interpreter and translator to join our team. The successful candidate will perform consecutive interpreting to provide accurate renditions of informal to highly formal discourse both remotely and in person. This role involves verbally conveying the meaning of the source language while reflecting the style, register, and cultural context of the source message without omissions, additions, or embellishments. The interpreter will also provide summarization of the source language over a chat application in real time and may support interpretation and translation needs at off-site meetings and/or outside of standard business hours as required. Additionally, the role includes translating and reviewing technical documents, online content, and business correspondence, monitoring daily communication posted to intra-company online systems, and translating relevant content related to ongoing support issues. The candidate will be responsible for assessing the quality of translation work, providing feedback, and collaborating with document authors and engineers to drive improvement initiatives. The position also involves proposing best practices regarding localized content and utilizing CAT tools, machine translation, and termbases to ensure uniformity in translation work. The interpreter will lead internal team development initiatives and mentor other team members in developing their interpreting skills.
