About The Position

Applies sound and diversified knowledge of discipline engineering principles and practices in broad areas of project assignments • Provides non-managerial leadership to the engineering design teams as the technical design leader and leads the design team on technical issues on medium and large complex projects • Provides input to Project Managers and technical management concerning potential process and design improvements related to engineering design and technology • Maintains a high level of technical expertise in one or more engineering disciplines by identifying individual training needs and scheduling appropriate training programs • Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers and officials in other organizations to confirm that engineering practices applied are consistent with current engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and current technological innovations • Leads training and development of other engineers to provide technical guidance and training related to engineering design and code compliance issues around engineering expertise • Maintains, implements, and monitors a system of quality control consistent with ENTRUST’s policies and procedures • Performs all other related duties as assigned The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this work. Requirements

  • Minimum two-year AS degree in technical field or 4-year Engineering Technology degree, preferred, and eight+ years of relevant work experience
  • Or thirteen+ years of relevant work experience in the utility industry without a degree
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering design tools and platforms (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS, EWMS, and modeling software).
  • Deep knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to gas and electric utility design, including system planning, code compliance, and constructability.
  • Extensive technical knowledge in area of expertise
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, tools, and innovations in utility engineering and design.
  • Strong familiarity with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NESC, NEC, DOT, local utility codes).
  • Knowledge of utility lifecycle processes, including design, permitting, construction, and QA/QC.
  • Understanding of project delivery models and the role of technical leadership in crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Skill to use hand-eye coordination, visual (near) acuity and depth perception.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation, peer reviews, and client interaction.
  • Skill to organize more technical work
  • Skill to motivate, develop and direct work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Ability to synthesize technical information and provide authoritative recommendations to project managers and leadership.
