Job Summary Ensures new and existing ACI customers receive exceptional outcomes through high‑quality, reliable delivery while fostering extraordinary experiences for both customers and internal teams. Acts as a trusted technical consultant, guiding customers through complex High Value Payments and Wire Transfer solutions with consistency, accountability, and care. Performance is typically evaluated based on utilization (i.e., billable hours). This role is primarily responsible for analyzing customer requirements, designing and supporting complex payment solutions, and guiding customers through implementation, production support, and operational readiness. The Senior Technical Consultant is viewed by customers as a subject matter expert and advisor, particularly in High Value Wires operations, legacy and modern payment platforms, and ISO 20022-based payment flows. Performance is typically evaluated based on utilization (billable hours), quality of delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the Payments industry.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting High Value Wires operations, either within a wire room environment or as technical support for wire payment systems.
  • Solid understanding of High Value Payments, payment processing lifecycles, and operational support in mission‑critical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work effectively in customer‑facing consulting roles.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ACI Money Transfer System (MTS) or similar wire/payment platforms.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 20022 payment messaging standards and modern payment architecture.
  • Experience with real‑time or high‑availability payment systems and production support models.
  • COBOL experience, particularly in supporting or enhancing legacy payment systems.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a client‑facing consulting role within financial services or payments technology.
  • Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, and operational considerations related to High Value Payments and Wire Transfers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze client business and operational needs related to High Value Payments and Wire Transfers, integrating client strategies and recommending appropriate technical and operational solutions using ACI products and methodologies.
  • Provide deep technical and functional expertise in High Value Wire operations, including experience supporting a wire room and/or providing technical support for wire payment systems in production environments.
  • Solve highly technical and complex problems across implementations, upgrades, and production support engagements; serve as a technical authority for assigned projects and customers.
  • Lead and guide customers through the implementation and adoption of payment solutions, ensuring alignment with operational workflows, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Support and advise customers on ISO 20022 payment messaging standards, High Value Payments processing, and end‑to‑end payment flows, including operational considerations and exception handling.
  • Anticipate risks, operational gaps, and technical challenges; proactively identify mitigation strategies and communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to support pre‑sales activities, including solution discussions, technical presentations, and scoping for High Value Payments engagements.
  • Demonstrate a strong consultancy mindset by building trusted customer relationships, understanding client objectives, and delivering pragmatic, value‑driven recommendations.
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of ACI products relevant to High Value Payments and Wires, guiding customers to ensure successful implementations and long‑term product adoption.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies, including the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
