About the position

The Sr Tech Lead Java Development position is a senior-level role focused on designing and implementing applications while leading a small development team. The individual will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of projects, ensuring high-quality code, and mentoring team members. This role requires a hands-on approach to coding and collaboration with various stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement entire applications independently.
• Manage a three-member sub-group of the development team during implementation.
• Engage in hands-on coding and technical code reviews.
• Collaborate with leadership, product owners, and stakeholders to understand requirements and develop software architecture.
• Lead technical members in developing applications with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
• Guide product design with a focus on technical feasibility.
• Assist team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
• Make recommendations on the feasibility of new technologies and frameworks.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years of application development experience.
• 5+ years of lead experience in a technical role.
• Solid working knowledge of core Java skills.
• Hands-on experience with coding and mentoring technical staff.
• Proven experience with Java/J2EE technical stack for back-end development.
• Experience with Spring/Boot Framework and JPA/Hibernate.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks, including Angular.
• Knowledge of relational databases, particularly Oracle/SQL.
