This role will actively collaborate with the Vertex O Series implementation team, obtain an understanding of business and tax processes to support the entire tax journey from ERP to Vertex and back, understand the integration, support users, and troubleshoot issues.   This role will sit in our Philidelphia, PA office and work a hybrid schedule of 3 days in office.

Requirements

  • Vertex O Series experience (required) – ideally with hands‑on setup, tax assist rules, new taxpayer/company setup, and update review work.
  • 3+ years of indirect tax and/or tax technology experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Comfort working with large data sets, tax logic, and system troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to exceptional customer service and excels at identifying and resolving problems.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and maintains high energy in response to change, shifting priorities, and evolving business requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tools like Alteryx, Power BI, or other automation/analytics platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Support and help lead Vertex O Series tax engine implementations, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and post‑go‑live support.
  • Perform tax engine data mapping (taxpayers, locations, customers, products, certificates, ship vias).
  • Troubleshoot tax setup and tax decisioning issues across systems (Eclipse, Vertex, ERP).
  • Provide user support to internal teams such as Credit, Compliance, and Operations on tax determinations and technical questions.
  • Analyze processes and recommend automation and efficiency improvements within the tax lifecycle.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting, compliance support, and audit data requests.
  • Participate in integrations of new operating companies, including occasional weekend cutovers.
