About The Position

Job Description We are seeking a motivated and experienced State and Local Tax Senior Analyst who is interested in joining our world class Corporate Tax team. You will be responsible for providing state income tax provision, compliance, controversy, and planning support, but will also support the team on WW tax reporting and US federal compliance matters, as needed. You must have strong tax technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in our Santa Clara office and will report to the Senior Tax Manager.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience working on state income tax issues facing large multinational corporations, including public accounting, law firm, and/or industry experience
  • J.D. or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s degree in Taxation or CPA a plus
  • Strong technical tax and ASC 740 knowledge with demonstrated experience in tax provision and compliance
  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of tax software such as OneSource tax provision is preferred
  • Experienced in research, analysis and documentation of complex tax issues
  • Strong project management skills, demonstrated by consistently meeting deadlines and effectively managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and a problem-solver, with strong collaboration and communication skills and an interest in learning new skills and technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in SAP, Blackline, Microsoft Power BI and Alteryx is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quarterly and annual state income tax provision workpapers, and supporting workpapers, including ASC 740 calculations and tax account roll-forward schedules.
  • Assist with the preparation of federal income provision workpapers and supporting workpapers, as needed.
  • Prepare quarterly federal and state income tax estimated tax payments calculations and facilitate payments.
  • Prepare income state income tax return workpapers and coordinate and review tax returns prepared by outside service providers
  • Support external and internal tax audits by gathering necessary documentation, preparing responses to tax authorities, and managing communication regarding discrepancies or notices.
  • Support state income tax planning initiatives by researching and analyzing complex tax issues and modeling potential tax implications.
  • Monitor and model potential tax implications of state income tax legislation, case law and rulemaking
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation through use of tools such as Alteryx; drive efficiency and effectiveness both independently and through collaboration with other tax and technology specialists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Benefits

  • For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $114,300 - $188,600, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits.
  • Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure.
