Supports tax planning and tax research initiatives as needed. Provides quarterly and annual Accounting for Income Tax (ASC 740) support as needed. Provides IRS and State audit support as necessary, including the response and resolution to notices. Reviews and analyzes the impact of proposed and enacted legislation as required. Perform other tasks as necessary. Tax Compliance Reporting: Prepares and documents accurate tax work papers for all basic to moderate income and franchise tax returns. Prepares Federal income and State income and franchise tax returns. Includes preparation of Partnership returns. Provides all tax returns and work papers for detailed review and approval by department management State Tax Estimate and Extension Compliance Prepares State tax estimates as assigned. Provides State tax estimates for detailed review and approval by department management Accounting for Income Tax (ASC 740) Provides quarterly and annual support as necessary including return to provision reconciliations, valuation allowance calculations, Fin 48 analysis, acquisition/ divestiture calculations, and analyzing/implementing/reporting tax planning and accounting method strategies. Supports Tax planning and tax research initiatives. IRS and State Audits Provides support as necessary. Includes responding to, after manager approval, and resolving notices received from Federal and State jurisdictions. Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1 - 3 years public experience or 3 - 5 years industry experience
  • Strong federal and state corporate and partnership tax experience
  • Preparation of various states’ corporate income tax returns
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook
  • Familiar with tax return compliance software – preferably CORPTAX & SAGE
  • Familiar with internet-based tax research techniques
  • Strong technical skills
  • Must have time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet statutory and internal deadlines
  • Must possess excellent project management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork with other members of the tax department and to build professional
  • relationships within the company; assisting others to accomplish related job results as needed
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask, work in a cross-functional and fast-paced team environment
  • Strong goal orientation with a sense of urgency and attention to detail

  • CPA License is preferred but not required.
