OSI Systems is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Tax Accountant. This individual will be responsible for assisting in preparing the company’s federal and state income tax returns, preparing and reviewing income tax provisions, and responsible for working on special tax projects. The ideal candidate will have well rounded technical tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and completing projects. They will also be hands-on, detailed oriented with proven capabilities in working in all areas of tax (federal, state, international, provision and at times sales and use).

Requirements

  • B.S. in Accounting or related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior tax accountant level required.
  • Must have a strong background in both Federal and State tax compliance.
  • Must be team-oriented and collaborative/ able to work well with others.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills are needed.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present results clearly and concisely.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or equivalent certification desired.
  • Tax experience in a multinational company preferred.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Excel and the demonstrated ability to learn software packages is essential.
  • Onesource (Go Systems) and Tax depreciation software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review the various components of the Company’s federal, state, and local income tax returns, including quarterly and annual income tax provisions tasks. This person is expected to consolidate and put together the Federal Return and expected to collaborate with other departments for computation of various book-tax differences.
  • Prepare and review the Company’s state apportionment factors including setting up and updating workbooks for tax law changes. This person will be responsible for working closely with the Tax Manager in updating the third party consultants for any state tax compliance.
  • Prepare and review federal and state tax depreciation and amortization. This person will work closely with the Tax Manager to update workbooks for efficiency purposes.
  • Prepare the Company’s federal and state quarterly estimated taxes including updating workbooks for efficiency / process improvement purposes.
  • Work closely with the Tax Manager in handling tax audits and various notices.
  • Work closely with other Tax Team Members in preparing special tax projects including US international reporting requirements, at times transfer pricing projects, and various foreign provision tasks.
