About The Position

The Sr. Tax Accountant will assist our finance team in managing our tax-related tasks. We are seeking a tax professional with experience in both corporate and indirect tax to support a wide range of compliance, provision, and planning activities. This role requires a strong understanding of U.S. federal and state income tax as well as multi-jurisdictional sales/use tax, property tax, and related indirect filings. The ideal candidate has a blend of public and industry experience, and is comfortable working across functions including tax provision (ASC 740), indirect tax compliance, tax audits, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tax Accountant.
  • Experience with Use tax and Corporate tax is required.
  • Must have experience with fixed asset accounting.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations is required.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential. Must have the ability to create pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, etc. (Experience with Macros is a plus).
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be proactive and self-motivated.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and adhere to confidentiality.
  • Must have the willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform a variety of accounting functions independently.
  • Experience with an ERP system, Dynamic AX and/or SAP is preferred not required.
  • Experience working with multi-state taxes is highly desired.
  • Experience with tax credits is a plus.
  • IFRS knowledge is preferred.
  • NOTE: Due to the technical complexity of this role, well-rounded public accounting experience across different functions is strongly preferred and will be prioritized. Candidates without such experience must demonstrate equivalent technical accounting and tax expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
  • Assist in quarterly tax provision calculations and support monthly/yearly closings.
  • Develop and lead sales/use tax documentation and training.
  • Coordinate audit and tax information needed with appropriate internal and external users.
  • Assist with tax research and planning in accordance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting including identification, recording, valuation, and property tax returns.
  • Assist with research and development tax credit interviews and documentation.
  • Assist with transfer pricing documentation and ensuring corporate policies are followed.
  • Complete census reports.
  • Liaise with colleagues to improve and streamline financial procedures and processes.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS.
  • Participate and/or lead various projects for the accounting and finance team.
