Resolves technical problems by providing resolutions, follow-up and education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Degree OR Equivalent Experience Field of Study: healthcare Field of Study: Computer Science Field of Study: Business Field of Study: related field.
  • Years of experience: 5 to 7
  • SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Field of Study: Healthcare, Computer science, business or related field or equivalent Experience
  • Working knowledge of an interface engine, network protocols (TCP/IP, FTP) and application protocols (HL7, XML)
  • Requires 5 to 7 years Experience in systems analysis and programming on various hardware platforms.
  • Must be willing and able to learn new technologies as needed.
  • Knowledge about interface engine such as Cloverleaf and EPIC bridges.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in ITIL
  • Working knowledge of an interface engine (Cloverleaf), EPIC bridges, network protocols (TCP/IP, LU2) and application protocols (HL7, ANSI X12, XML).
  • Working knowledge of UNIX and TCL is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Go anywhere and other file transfer capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop real-time and batch interfaces between disparate systems, using the Cloverleaf interface engine to link multiple platforms, assorted network protocols and various transaction formats. Development includes analysis, design, programming, testing and documentation of functional/technical specifications, user procedures and operational and err-handling procedures.
  • Perform project management function by developing and maintaining project work plans, communicating and coordinating with vendors and leading project work groups to enhance existing or new system requirements.
  • Provide technical support and consultation to other departments within Information Services as well as the entire organization. Includes evaluation of equipment configurations, analysis and programming support as needed by other application areas.
  • Assist other departments and areas in the selection of system software from an interface standpoint, advising where to obtain data, recommending format and protocols to be used and approving interface viability.
  • Perform problem determination and resolution for application software errors including 24 hour on-call support. Trouble shooting incident management, change and release management and problem solving skills.
  • Maintain awareness in state-of-the-art hardware and software. Organizes and conducts training sessions for Information Services personnel as needed.
  • Administer physical, procedural, and technical safeguards for protection, control and monitoring of information assets, including access management, staff education, responses to breaches, business continuity planning, auditing, and information security risk management.
