About The Position

The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of our rapidly growing systems infrastructure. As a key member of a talented team of engineers and administrators, you will deliver mission-critical infrastructure and ensure exceptional availability, performance, and security across our fully virtualized VMware environment. This role requires extensive experience with VMware, SAN architecture, Microsoft Server technologies, blade server infrastructure, and cloud migration to Microsoft Azure. Key Skills for Success Core Competencies & Expertise Virtualization Engineering (VMware vSphere 7 & 8): ESXi setup, configuration, VM rollout, maintenance, and troubleshooting Infrastructure Design & Optimization: Performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning Systems Administration: Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy Server Hardware Management: Blade server installation, configuration, and physical troubleshooting Cloud Engineering (Microsoft Azure): On-prem to cloud workload migration, Azure services management Storage & SAN Architecture: Experience with SAN technologies, including Equallogic Database Environment Support: SQL Server administration, performance tuning, optimization Automation & Scripting: PowerShell scripting for administration, deployment, and automation Operational Reliability: Root-cause analysis, incident response, and day-to-day systems health management Security & Compliance: Adhering to company standards, technical procedures, and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of direct experience with VMware vSphere 7 & 8 environments
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Server products/applications (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.)
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows, Linux, and approved operating systems
  • Understanding of Windows systems administration
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and migration strategies
  • Proficiency in SQL Server administration
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • VMware Certification (VCP)
  • Microsoft Certified Engineer
  • Experience with Exchange, Citrix, Linux administration
  • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.)
  • Additional scripting experience (Python, Bash)
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to create/maintain technical procedures
