About The Position

TechSur Solutions is a digital services company whose mission is to enable digital transformation for our customers to improve quality and efficiency. Based in the DC metropolitan area, TechSur specializes in advanced cloud services, modernization for both IT structures and applications, leveraging Agile development, and Data Analytics. Since we were formed in August of 2016, we have supported multiple impactful and exciting government programs. We are seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer – Linux with 8+ years of hands-on experience in managing enterprise IT infrastructure, Linux systems, and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in RHEL administration, automation using Ansible, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and application server management. This role involves close collaboration with clients, application teams, and cloud engineers to ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems.

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Engineer / Administrator
Strong expertise in RHEL (7, 8, 9) administration
Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation and Ansible Tower
Experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms
Knowledge of OpenShift container platform
Strong understanding of application servers: Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, WebSphere
Experience with cloud migrations and application modernization
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools
Strong troubleshooting and client communication skills

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)

Responsibilities

Maintain and support IT infrastructure including server hardware and Linux operating systems
Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Linux OS (RHEL 7, 8, 9)
Install, configure, and manage middleware components such as Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS, WebSphere
Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks for OS upgrades (RHEL 7 to RHEL 8), OS hardening, and automation tasks
Experience with Ansible Tower / AWX for configuration management and orchestration
Build and manage virtual machines in Azure Cloud, including mobility and services migration tool installation
Provide guidance and implementation support for OpenShift and Azure cloud environments
Interact with clients to resolve system, application, and infrastructure-related issues
Analyze application performance and ensure availability and performance objectives are met using monitoring and performance tools (AWS)
Lead and contribute to Oracle database migration (11g to 12c) using automated deployment tools
Migrate web applications from WebSphere 7 to Tomcat 8, including deployment to AWS cloud
Upgrade and manage DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, OpenShift, AWS CodeDeploy
Develop AWS CloudFormation templates to automate EC2 provisioning, software installation, and service startup
Deploy and manage application updates across different versions on JBOSS and Tomcat environments
Ensure system security, compliance, and best practices across on-prem and cloud platforms
