About The Position

Hill Technical Solutions, a Valkyrie company, is hiring for a Senior Systems Engineer and Project Manager to join our team supporting development, integration, test, and evaluation of Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) solutions in our Huntsville, AL location. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management and systems engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience with avionics hardware within real-time closed-loop simulation environments. Provide project management for development and implementation of Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) solutions. Provide systems engineering support and guidance for HWIL projects. Use Systems Modeling Language (SysML) to develop standard systems models and diagrams. Interaction with customers and vendors will be required. Develops and applies advanced methods in the investigation and finds solutions of difficult military system design requirements and problems. Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks. Evaluates system capabilities. Reviews completion of work including system enhancements. Position requires comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex problems and provide solutions.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related engineering or science field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Must have demonstrated experience managing a project, leading a team, and interfacing with customers and suppliers.
• Must have demonstrated experience with standard industry systems modeling tools (e.g., Cameo, Systems Architect), specifically the ability to create structural, logical, and functional digital models to increasing levels of detail.
• Must have demonstrated experience with requirements management, specifically the ability to write, decompose, and verify system, subsystem, and component requirements.
• Must be familiar and have experience with using reference architectures in the development of system models.
• Must be knowledgeable and have experience in the domain of digital transformation, specifically the areas of digital engineering, model-based systems engineering, digital twins, and digital threads.
• Must have knowledge of industry practices.
• Ability to lead and train others.
• Must have the ability to communicate technical information in an understanding manner.
• Must have excellent skills in Customer and Team Communication and Collaboration.
• Must be able to multitask multiple parallel efforts.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Occasional travel- less than 10%
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
• May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
