About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a passionate and hardworking multidisciplinary team, you will help define performance upgrades and production changes to build on a myriad of technically-focused workstreams. You will work with the Upper Stage Program Leader, supporting all aspects of project management to include cost, schedule, technical design, risk & opportunity, certification, and change management. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 10+ years industry experience in launch system engineering development and/or operations
  • Strong AI/ML foundation and software engineering skills or hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agent frameworks.
  • Experience leading system-level technical trade studies
  • Demonstrated program/project management experience
  • Passion for Blue Origin's mission: Millions of people living and working in space!

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years industry experience in launch system engineering development and/or operations
  • Master's degree in engineering and/or Business
  • Experience across fluids, mechanical, and structures engineering domains
  • Ability to work with partially defined requirements and changing criteria
  • Program Management Professional certification or associated degree programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy end-to-end AI/ML pipelines (from data ingestion and model training to deployment and monitoring) that support advanced AI applications in scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, scope control, and agile/scrum program management.
  • Understand data sources, manage data collection and data pre-processing, labeling, and own data outputs.
  • Develop LLM-integrated systems with memory (context management) and retrieval-augmented generation capabilities.
  • Integrate AI models into production environments, optimizing for performance and implementing CI/CD automation.
  • Develop and coordinate production engineering changes, coordinating project schedules and incorporation plans to integrate changes into the vehicle and production systems.
  • Coordinate across engineering, production, supply chain, project management, and design functions to resolve non-conformances, ensuring value engineering is incorporated in decision processes.
  • Work directly with supply chain to ensure purchase request, purchase orders are fulfilled timely and develop associated metrics.
  • Drive multi-functional studies to close risks threatening program cost and schedule.
  • Coordinate with engineering Responsible Engineers (RE's) to develop strategic roadmaps for certification and qualification of engineering designs.
  • Work with technical and management functions to develop content for Blue Origin's Weekly Business Review (WBR) and Program Management Review (PMR).
  • Coordinate across subsystem Responsible Engineers and Technical Project Managers to collect and coordinate documentation for certification activities.
