As a Sr Systems Administrator you will be responsible for supporting, enhancing BBH web infrastructure and specialized software such as J2EE application servers, load balancing and monitoring solutions. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving problems using structured troubleshooting methods, techniques and tools in addition to recommending/implementing new configurations, upgrades etc. You will be working with advanced technologies including IBM Content Manager on Demand, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache Tomcat, IBM Liberty, Oracle WebLogic Server, IBM Business Process Manager/BAW, and IBM Operational Decision Manager. This will require close coordination with other departments within Systems and with external vendors during problem analysis/resolution.

Requirements

  • Automation skills - good hands-on shell scripts along with Ansible, Bash, Python is a must (jython / wsadmin welcomed).
  • Minimum 5-years experience with application servers such as IBM WebSphere ND, IBM WebSphere Liberty, Tomcat, WebLogic, Apache HTTPD / IBM IHS in Linux Environment
  • Good understanding of J2EE application.
  • Expertise in Java JVM optimization.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving software problems and conflicts, especially EAR/WAR applications.
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS and PKI certificates.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins / deployment pipelines.
  • Strong verbal communication skills; ability to work well in a team environment, organize multiple deliverables, and respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Maintaining precise and updated documentation.
  • Openness to a hybrid work model.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Java web development is an advantage.
  • OpenShift / Kubernetes hands-on experience.
  • Microservice architectures.
  • Middleware / logs monitoring and alerting systems like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki or Splunk.
  • Infrastructure-as-a-code tools and concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing maintenance of BBH web infrastructure including production Internet and intranet sites. This includes performing regularly scheduled maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting problems and performance tuning, addressing security issues, and developing/implementing standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommend, install, and configure web software.
  • Liaise with other BBH Systems support personnel on software upgrades and open issues between applications, Linux/Windows servers, databases, MQ queues, file shares, load balancers and security software.
