RTX Collins Aerospace, Applied Signal Technology, currently has an opening for a temporary System Administrator to perform onsite in our Annapolis Junction, Maryland office. The selected team member will be responsible for performing a full range of information technology functions. While the majority of performances will be in classified areas, some unclassified work will also be required. This position ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software, and related procedures adhere to organizational- and security-based policies.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Configuration and troubleshooting of Linux and Windows issues
  • Creating, modifying and deleting user accounts and groups as well as integrating Linux systems into an Active Directory environment
  • Planning and performing operating system, software and repo updates and troubleshooting networking issues and editing the routing table

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with time management to meet critical deadlines
  • Experience planning and managing projects of various sizes and scopes
  • Skill in reading, writing, modifying, and executing simple scripts on Windows and Linux systems
  • Experience working in and supporting classified areas
  • Experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting a variety of network and security management tools including, but not limited to; Centrify, Cisco Call Manager, Puppet, Splunk, Tenable

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users who need assistance utilizing client level hardware and software
  • Plan, implement, and operate network services and systems, to include hardware and virtual environments
  • Setup and maintain systems including installation, configuration, and updating of hardware and software
  • Implement and troubleshoot Technical Security Controls per company policy and/or Customer requirements
