About The Position

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, Texas to: Architect, design, build, develop, test, and/or implement software applications. Conduct business and technical analysis, code reviews, and unit testing. Implement, and produce technical documentation of solutions for new development, system enhancements, and production support. Design, develop, and implement modifications and corrections to existing software, including the development of debugging routines. Perform regular check-ins to continuous integration of systems and/or software applications. Participate in cross-functional teams and work with architects, systems analysts, project managers, QA and other developers to implement business requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology. Work under direct supervision to ensure on-time delivery of projects, production support plans, and knowledge transfer for long-term supportability of upgrades, enhancements, and deployments. Position reports to the Austin, TX office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Requirements

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer or systems engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer or systems engineer-related occupation.
  • Position requires experience in the following: Java, J2EE, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, JMX, or MBeans; C#, XML, SQL, PL/SQL, Objective C, C, C++, Python, or Ruby; HTML, ReactJS, Redux, AngularJS, CSS, or JavaScript; Mac, Linux, Windows, or CentOS; WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic, or SOA integrations; Docker, Kubernetes, Vert.x, GitHub, Oracle Server, or Spring Boot; Apache Cassandra, NoSQL, MongoDB, Oracle PL/SQL, or Teradata Database; SDLC; Object Oriented Programming; and Distributed Systems.
