About The Position

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs a Sr. SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Austin, Texas to: Utilize Python for data engineering tasks, streamlining data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes to ensure robust data pipelines and efficient data management. Design, develop, and maintain scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications for real-time streaming, including technologies like Apache Kafka and JAVA/J2EE. Build automated tests and enable continuous delivery of platform components utilizing Angular and Node for full stack manageability tools. Collaborate with junior members to guide design reviews, development, and code reviews. Write and document procedures for development, deployment, and maintenance. Work closely with technology partners across programs to conceive, design, and create unique front-end and mobile capabilities. Optimize data processing code for performance across multiple platforms and environments within the Big Data Technology stack (Hadoop, NoSQL, etc.). Position reports to the Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a SW Engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 2 years in the job offered or in a SW Engineer-related occupation.

Responsibilities
