About The Position

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Supply Chain Manager to join our SCM team in Kennesaw, GA. We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Supply Chain Manager to lead procurement, inventory management, and supplier relationships for our Parts and Accessories business. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost control, and supplier performance while driving strategic initiatives, including new product introductions and lifecycle management. Additionally, this seasoned leader will oversee Quality Assurance (QA) and the Master Parts List (MPL) teams to maintain high standards in supplier performance and product documentation.

Requirements

  • BS / BA degree in Supply Chain, a quantitative discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • CPM or CPIM certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in Purchasing and Material Planning in a high-volume transaction-oriented environment.
  • Analytics, systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel capability required.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years leadership experience within an Operations, Purchasing, Supply Chain environment leading individual contributors and people-managers.
  • Ability to analyze and optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Familiarity with logistics software (SAP) and supply chain technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to address and resolve supply chain disruptions and challenges.
  • Capable of making well-informed decisions that align with long-term business objectives.
  • Quickly adjusts to changing circumstances and remains effective under pressure.
  • Understands and manages their own emotions and those of others to build strong relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute demand and procurement strategies to optimize inventory and supplier performance.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, contracts, and performance tracking to meet cost, quality, and delivery (CQD) objectives.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining supply continuity.
  • Oversee RFQs, supplier capacity planning, and new product sourcing.
  • Serve as the SAP functional expert for purchasing and forecasting.
  • Optimize inventory levels, reduce backorders, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to improve procurement processes and supplier metrics.
  • Manage excess and obsolete inventory strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards for sourced products.
  • Oversee project management for new and re-sourced parts to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Lead supplier audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage MPL processes, ensuring timely updates for parts handbooks and service manuals.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering innovation and accountability.
  • Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and growth opportunities for staff.
  • Create a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
