The Amazon supply chain team is seeking an experienced leader to create and execute a worldwide supply chain strategy that focuses on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role is pivotal in managing the volume flows and fullness of our fulfillment centers and delivery stations, particularly in the context of Amazon's AMXL service, which specializes in delivering heavy and bulky items such as TVs and furniture. Launched in September 2018, AMXL has rapidly expanded to capture a significant share of the $600 billion heavy/bulky product market. The North America AMXL Supply Chain Execution (SCE) team is integral to the growth and profitability of this network, which currently supports over $9 billion in gross merchandise sales and is expected to see double-digit growth over the next three years. The Inventory Health team within AMXL is responsible for driving the strategy that optimizes inventory placement and health across the network. This role involves critical decision-making to balance cube versus demand, managing inventory placement logic, and influencing senior leadership on optimal inventory health and buying strategies. The successful candidate will oversee multiple initiatives and projects, write strategy documents to communicate the supply chain vision, and collaborate with Retail, Finance, and Operations partners to define effective supply chain and operating models. Additionally, the role requires forming cross-functional project teams, managing complex projects, and analyzing trade-off decisions to ensure the best outcomes for customers. The candidate will also be responsible for formulating and owning inventory strategy programs and presenting these strategies to senior leadership.
