As a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer at Honeywell, you will lead a team of quality engineers to ensure that suppliers meet Honeywell's quality standards in component manufacturing. Your role will focus on driving supplier performance improvement, managing relationships, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will conduct supplier audits, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to address quality issues, while also fostering a strong, diverse team culture.

  • Lead improvement of supplier quality, productivity, and safety for assigned suppliers to reduce Supplier PPM and improve deliveries to SETS sites.
  • Approve and develop new and existing suppliers through Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment to required performance levels.
  • Support tooling health initiatives by evaluating tool conditions on-site at suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Site Quality, and Category Manager organizations for growth and quality improvements at preferred suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier qualification through Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment.
  • Manage part approval through Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Monitor and report on supplier productivity performance and initiatives for improvement.
  • Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Procurement organizations to drive quality improvements.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for major supplier quality issues (8D Reports).
  • Utilize data analytics to identify key issues for focused improvement efforts.
  • Lead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams.
  • Evaluate tools (plastic, casting, EMS, tester, etc.) at the supplier.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of quality engineering practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in leading supplier performance improvement initiatives.
  • Six Sigma certification or knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry quality standards and requirements.
  • Experience in conducting supplier audits and performing root cause analysis.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with suppliers.
