About the position

As a Supply Quality Engineer at Anduril Industries, you will work inside & outside the organization to define, develop, and execute processes that deliver high quality & reliable avionics modules and components like PCBA/Circuit Cards, sensors, communication modules, and line replaceable units (LRUs) for Anduril's high speed aircraft programs. This role focuses on collaborating and driving early engagement with our design teams and suppliers to meet our quality requirements the first time and to evaluate technologies to assist in the design for manufacturing assessment, supplier technology assessment/development, as well as supplier quality management. Everything comes down to clarity and action with our suppliers and partnering with them for world class results is essential across the supply chain. The right person for this role has knowledge of manufacturing, supply management, supplier development, sub-system performance criteria and metrology, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Partner with design teams to support the design development process and provide design for manufacturability feedback.
  • Generate product data (drawings details, BOM information, layouts, test requirements, and part requirements) for avionics and PCBA parts.
  • Support internal Anduril design process and ideation using knowledge of electronics materials, processes, DFM, and inspection/measurement.
  • Manage technical risks, proof of concepts, prototyping, and scaling designs for volume production.
  • Drive supplier quality development processes throughout product development stages with the product engineering team.
  • Review supplier processes and capabilities to ensure alignment to electrical performance & sub-assembly requirements.
  • Partner with various engineering teams to deliver predictable supply to development and production programs.
  • Analyze key and critical characteristics for drawings and supplier specifications to drive supplier quality readiness.
  • Own the elimination of supplier risk to improve quality & reliability across the product lifecycle.
  • Support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Audit the Quality Management System at suppliers for compliance and performance.
  • Prepare, support, and lead supplier onsite audits and reviews for contract deliverables.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field.
  • Experience leading Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineering in electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with PCBAs or other electrical components for aerospace, aviation, defense, and space applications.
  • Experience in scaling supplier capabilities and quality from prototype to high rate production.
  • Experience performing source inspection at electronics manufacturing suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements.
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection to AS9102 Industry Standard.
  • Experience with driving supplier performance and evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as FMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master’s degree in a technical field.
  • Experience in creating control plans and process specifications for electronics parts.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces such as Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, USB.
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers.
  • Process Failure Modes Effects and Analysis (PFMEA) experience.
  • Experience with government contracts and auditing standard requirements.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, Tableau, Foundry, Altium.
