About The Position

This position is responsible for the supervision of Yards Team Members to ensure the safe, humane handling of livestock while providing accurate counts and identification. The individual will be working with FSIS inspectors, Livestock Producers, Livestock Haulers, Maintenance, Procurement, and Plant Operations. The individual in this position must work closely with the Yards and Operations management team in achieving objectives; accept full accountability assignments and day-to-day department responsibility; must be a team player and promote a culture of collaboration; will be responsible for training, retaining, and counseling team members.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 plus years in Harvesting Floor or Yards preferred.
• General knowledge of Livestock Handling and USDA regulations.
• Basic computer skills, including managing spreadsheets and email.
• Strong people skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Yards Team Members to ensure safe and humane handling of livestock.
• Provide accurate counts and identification of livestock.
• Work with FSIS inspectors, Livestock Producers, Livestock Haulers, Maintenance, Procurement, and Plant Operations.
• Collaborate with Yards and Operations management team to achieve objectives.
• Train, retain, and counsel team members.
• Manage the process of truck unloading, accurate counting, identification, and sorting of livestock.
• Oversee the cleaning and washing of the Yards.
