Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Education equivalent to graduation from High school, or GED equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required; Commercial Vehicle Driving experience a plus.
  • Maintains a current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) issued by a doctor approved by Stericycle/Shred-it.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of DOT, OSHA, HIPAA, and NAID.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications to include spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of inventory management and routing.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the transportation department of one or more locations within assigned geography.
  • Act as the liaison between customer, operations, CSRs, and the support team.
  • Maintain and manage inventory supplies to ensure that adequate inventories are maintained at all times.
  • Manage driver debrief process and ensure documentation for every customer transaction.
  • Update route comments as required and maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Develop relationships with customers and establish contacts for accurate service feedback.
  • Conduct customer visits to review service and manage customer interaction records.
  • Review payroll hours to ensure efficiency and manage route vehicles and company equipment.
  • Select, train, and develop an effective and efficient staff.
  • Establish and communicate performance standards and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Perform ride-a-longs to ensure Route Drivers operate safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct spot checks to reinforce proper Driver behavior.
  • Complete location audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Track and input DOT hours and administer compliance with safety regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance of Driver Qualification Files, DOT Log Files, and Vehicle Condition Reports.
