About The Position

The Lamination Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the Rigid-Flex PCB lamination department. This role ensures that multilayer and rigid-flex lamination processes are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality, customer, and IPC standards. The supervisor leads production personnel, monitors process controls, resolves technical issues, and drives continuous improvement in yield, quality, and on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 5 years of manufacturing supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems with ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, production travelers, and process specifications.
  • Working knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
  • This position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Under ITAR, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. lawful permanent resident (e.g., "Green Card" holder), asylee, or refugee as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). Responsibilities

  • Supervise rigid, flex, and rigid-flex lamination processes including lay-up, press operation, and post-lamination handling.
  • Ensure adherence to process parameters (temperature, pressure, time, vacuum profiles).
  • Monitor production schedules and coordinate manpower to meet delivery commitments.
  • Review travelers, work instructions, and engineering change notices (ECNs).
  • Troubleshoot lamination defects such as delamination, voids, resin starvation and mis-registration risks.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Work closely with Quality and Engineering to investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain proper documentation, process logs, and lot traceability.
  • Support customer audits, internal audits, and corrective/preventive action activities.
  • Lead, train, and mentor lamination operators and technicians.
  • Enforce safety rules, 5S, and EHS requirements in the department.
  • Conduct shift handovers, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous skill development.
  • Ensure proper operation and preventive maintenance of lamination presses and lay-up tooling.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment issues and downtime reduction.
  • Monitor material handling of prepregs, copper foils, coverlay, adhesives, and core materials (including storage and shelf-life control).
  • Drive yield improvement, scrap reduction, and cycle-time optimization initiatives.
  • Participate in new product introductions (NPI) and process development for advanced rigid-flex designs.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives.
