About The Position

This position is part of a group of Team Members who are committed to supplying cost competitive high-quality product by taking care of people achieving operational and environmental excellence managing risks and exceeding customer expectations in a workplace that provides for individual dignity and respect. This position is responsible for all aspects of the business at the farm level for a 2500 sow unit facility. Position is responsible for the production of a high-quality product in a timely manner while maintaining a safe workplace and clean environment. This position is also responsible for the training of the team members respective to the facility. Specific duties include directing and providing leadership to all farm Team Members all costs and production volumes at the farm level including spending budgeting the safety of all farm Team Members and the biosecurity of the unit and farm, all environmental issues including pit and lagoon level compliance water and air quality waste removal and reporting. Other requirements are ensuring Customer Satisfaction including PQA Pork Quality Assurance as well as facility and dwelling maintenance; implementing and monitoring policies and procedures including standard operating guidelines and human resources policies and procedures; reporting production numbers of environmental numbers of safety issues accidents and human resources issues timely and accurately as well as any other duties that may arise.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
Experience: 2 or more years of experience managing a live swine production facility; a complete knowledge of the animal flow processing ventilation feeding and vaccination protocols.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Ability to build working relationships with other Team Members that foster open communication increased productivity and safety.
Supervisory: This position is responsible for managing several groups of Team Members who perform like activities.
Travel: 0-6 times per year for training purposes.

Responsibilities
