CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Structural Engineer – Buildings to join our Architectural & Structures Team in Albany, NY or Syracuse, NY . In this key role, you’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, partner with project managers, and steer the design and execution of transformative architectural projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Proven ability to lead a team with strong leadership and collaboration skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications across various public and private projects
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues in various areas of architecture and structure design
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies
