About The Position

Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized Solid State Transformer systems. Solid State Transformers systems are much more than a transformer replacement, enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. We are looking for mission driven team members passionate about making amazing products for worldwide electrification at maximum acceleration. Requirements

  • Technical degree (PhD preferred) or equivalent industry experience in Electrical Engineering or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics design
  • Architected a high volume (100k+ units) product
  • Proficient with simulation tools such as MATLAB Simulink, PSCAD
  • Strong understanding of fundamental physics including electrical, mechanical, and thermodynamics
  • Able to use scripting languages to create and test models
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% including internationally
  • Please note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options.

  • Experience working in the Energy sector preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Product and Design teams to deliver a robust, single fault tolerant architecture
  • Create operation models and run simulations to ensure optimal component sizing and specifications for electrical and thermal systems
  • Conduct DFMEA to identify design gaps and propose solutions
  • Own design trade-offs and cost analyses to guide engineering decisions
  • Build a team to own and deliver detailed requirements for Design teams
