About the position

As a Windows Software Engineer at Cribl, you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of our Edge product on Windows nodes. This role involves enhancing the performance, reliability, and user experience of our Edge platform, which is designed for edge-based data collection across diverse configurations. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and product managers to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the technical strategy for Edge deployment on Windows, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
• Engage in architecture discussions and design reviews, collaborating with team members to refine solutions.
• Form partnerships across various departments to deliver top-notch features.
• Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing and maintenance.
• Implement rigorous testing methodologies, including automated tests, to validate product functionality and reliability.
• Assist Support and SRE teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Be on-call for rotations to support the SRE team.

Requirements

• Proficient expertise in Windows environments, including Windows 10/11 and Server editions.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), PowerShell, Windows SysInternals, Windows Event Log, and Active Directory.
• Demonstrated capability in orchestrating large-scale Windows deployments.
• Experience building installers with Windows Installer and WiX.
• Proven track record of using Node.js, Typescript, and React to build software products.
• Strong knowledge of operating system concepts, including memory management, filesystems, networking, and process management.
• Extensive familiarity with the Windows API.
• Experience with Agile processes and rapid iterative development.
• Commitment to ownership, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and debugging skills.
