The Enterprise Engineering Team at The Trade Desk are seeking a visionary Senior Staff Enterprise Engineer - Salesforce Architecture to lead the design and implementation of our next-generation Go-To-Market (GTM) architecture. You will drive innovation across sales, marketing, support, and partner functions by leveraging Salesforce and adjacent technologies. This strategic role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, architectural vision, and strong executive communication skills to align business outcomes with scalable systems design.

Requirements

  • BS degree in related field or equivalent years of experience required. MS degree preferred. Salesforce certifications a plus.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise systems design, with 8+ years in Salesforce architecture and solution design.
  • Proven success in influencing executive stakeholders by translating complex technical options into clear business outcomes.
  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional architecture reviews and aligning technology strategy with business goals.
  • Expert-level understanding of Salesforce architecture, development (APEX, Lightning, Flow), and integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, Kafka, Boomi).
  • Experience with system design methodologies including event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and microservices.
  • Deep understanding of GTM processes-lead funnel, sales ops, quoting, customer onboarding, and lifecycle automation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to engage senior leaders and drive buy-in on technology direction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience presenting to or advising C-level executives on architecture roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML technologies in the context of sales or customer support automation.
  • Background in SaaS, tech, or fast-scaling enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve a cohesive enterprise architecture that streamlines the entire GTM journey-from lead acquisition to post-sale engagement-through integrated systems and data flows.
  • Own and evolve the Salesforce platform architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and integrations with third-party and internal systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by clearly articulating the trade-offs, risks, and long-term impacts of architectural choices on business goals.
  • Set and promote architectural guardrails, data models, governance frameworks, and reusable patterns to support scalability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Sales Operations, Marketing Operations, Customer Success, and Security to ensure architectural alignment with business and technical strategy.
  • Identify and champion emerging technologies, including AI/ML and automation, to drive rep productivity and personalized customer engagement.
  • Architect scalable integrations across Salesforce, internal data platforms, CDPs, BI tools, and workflow automation platforms to support a 360° customer view.
  • Design solutions that adhere to data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
