About The Position

At Palo Alto Networks, we are building the world's most comprehensive AI security platform with Prisma AIRS. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems that power our cutting-edge AI security platform. The position is located at our dynamic downtown Seattle office, requiring in-office work three days a week. As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will collaborate with various teams to ensure the success of the Prisma AIRS organization and own new features from start to finish, participating in all phases of the product development cycle.

Requirements

  • Expertise in at least one strongly typed programming language (Go preferred, or Java, C#, C++, or modern Python).
  • Experience writing comprehensive unit and end-to-end tests.
  • Experience in designing large distributed systems and web services in the cloud.
  • Deep knowledge in the public cloud (GCP, AWS, or OCI) is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and GitHub is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-disciplined, self-managed, self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Ready to understand and dissect new technology stacks quickly.
  • Excited about working in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional or military experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with front end engineers to collaborate on schema required to power a UI.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, frontend software engineers, product designers, and infrastructure software engineers.
  • Design and build innovative and solid products to ensure customers can use AI securely.
  • Own new features/functionality from start to finish.
  • Participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation and test.
  • Ensure that applications are production-ready, scalable, and reliable.
  • Design, build, and operate production security services.
  • Develop expertise in new technologies.
