About The Position

Tesla Production Team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated, engineer to lead the end-to-end precision manufacturing of critical components that goes into Tesla vehicles. We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain) to deliver the world-class products that will shape the future of Tesla. The role of Production Engineer is to support precision manufacturing process to drive scalable methods to high volume production. Drive the in-house manufacturing technology and process development of complex critical components assemblies Develop scalable manufacturing technologies that can scale for high-volume production Establish equipment requirements for high volume manufacturing and develop high-volume manufacturing methods Drive machine tool equipment and tooling design developments with external suppliers and with internal entities for scalable high-volume (automotive level) production Lead troubleshooting efforts on tooling that will be used in high-volume manufacturing Partner closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams on manufacturability Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams, including Equipment, Controls, Process, and Maintenance teams Establish and monitor KPIs for maintenance activities, including equipment downtime, mean time to repair (MTTR), and mean time between failures (MTBF) Collaborate with process engineering teams to identify and implement improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety Review and approve technical designs, specifications, and modifications for equipment and systems Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans for equipment failures and process deviations

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field, or with equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments, with a focus on Maintenance, Equipment, Controls, or Process Engineering
  • Expertise in PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Equipment availability and reliability metrics
  • Employee engagement and development within the engineering

Responsibilities
