The Role: Architect the Future of Flight We’re seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead Advanced Engine Systems Integration within our SPOCT (Systems, Performance, Operability, Controls, and Transients) team. This role is central to shaping the next generation of propulsion systems—from concept through production and operation. You’ll drive system-level design, integration, and validation across disciplines including thermodynamics, controls, and transient analysis. You’ll also play a key role in aligning technology development with platform strategy, ensuring readiness for testing, certification, and deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in aerothermal or systems integration.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in aerospace or a related industry.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to the need for government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in turbomachinery design and development.
  • Exposure to engine design, aerodynamics, acoustics, and certification processes.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience working with global, cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for mentorship and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems integration and requirement flowdown across engine performance, operability, controls, and transient analysis.
  • Align thermodynamic cycle models and FADEC control software with system-level requirements.
  • Develop forward-looking strategies for platform competitiveness and technology insertion.
  • Ensure engine and rig test plans support technology maturation and risk mitigation.
  • Drive validation and verification activities for full engine systems.
  • Manage interfaces between design, systems, and execution teams.
  • Contribute to strategy and policy development within your area of responsibility.
  • Mentor junior engineers and serve as a resource for best practices and quality standards.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
