Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks timely and efficiently
  • Must be capable of operating in a fast- paced environment, able to handle pressure well, be self-motivated and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to consistently act with diplomacy and tact.
  • Must be detailed and thorough in execution of work
  • Flexible and creative problem solver
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting systems, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with home building and/or land development industry is preferred
  • Prefer at least 3-4 years Public Accounting experience, Big 4 preferred
  • Experienced with navigating in accounting systems, pulling data to generate meaningful analysis, leveraging Essbase cubes or similar data mining/automation and report writing tools and capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate period end close process and financial statement preparation
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of data supporting the financial statements and period end reporting packages
  • Complete account reconciliations and journal entries timely and accurately
  • Ensure documentation supporting financials is complete, organized and timely prepared and reviewed
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, activities and deliverables
  • Support management special requests with financial reporting, accounting reviews, budgeting and forecasting
  • Drive accounting process and data standardization actions and improvements; collaborate with the US Corp and FinOps teams as well as with other divisions to share best practices and implement and share efficiencies and consistency in best practices across divisions
  • Support external audits, ensure complete and accurate reconciliations, supporting documentation, lead schedules, and account analysis delivered timely
  • Adhere to and monitor appropriate internal controls to ensure conformance and compliance with policies and statutory requirements.
  • Alert the US Corporate Controller of any irregularities, lack of compliance, or any actual or potential problems associated with financial operations, audits, budgets or other financial matters
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing variances and trends
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
