About The Position

Description Primary Duties and Responsibilities Performs general accounting functions for the department and work closely with other members of the Accounting Team. Provides supervision of personnel and leads within the department when the manager/supervisor is unavailable. Knowledgeable of GAAP principles and, for Hospital Accounting roles, OSHPD guidelines for financial preparation. Key functions include: Completes account analyses, bank reconciliations, and other schedules in a consistent and timely manner, researches and identifies anomalies and provides report to management. Reviews designated accounts for reasonableness and accuracy, evaluate and make necessary adjustments prior to period end Completes Journal Entries in accurate and timely manner, ensuring appropriate accounts are recorded to, entries balance and adequate supporting documentation Serves as subject matter expert for Journal Entries, reviews Journal Entries prepared by others for accuracy. Prepares monthly and quarterly Sales Tax reporting. Performs special analyses and research as requested for departments and/or vendor questions, annual audits, cost reports, tax reporting, Fixed Asset management and/or Cash. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience Working knowledge of general ledger systems Demonstrated ability to lead others Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Hospital/healthcare experience Experience in Hoag's current ERP/Financial system
