Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Linux/ System Administration: kernel upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and storage/file system management (5 years).
  • Networking Protocols & Services: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SFTP, HTTP/S, Telnet, and subnetting (5 years).
  • Scripting: Shell, Bash, Python, and/or Perl (5 years).
  • Security & Identity Management: SSL/TLS, VPNs, IPSec, LDAP, and Active Directory (3 years).
  • Monitoring/Logging Tools: Splunk or DataDog (3 years).
  • Database Support: Oracle and PostgreSQL (3 years).
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS or GCP (3 years).
  • Load Balancers – AWS(ELB), NGINX, HAPROXY, F5 BIG-IP, AZURE Load Balancer (3 years).
  • Configuration Management: Ansible, Puppet, or Chef (3 years).
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or AWS CloudFormation (3 years).
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes (3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Combine software engineering practices with system administration to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of complex systems, cloud-based applications, and infrastructure by proactively monitoring, automating tasks, and rapidly responding to incidents to maintain high uptime and service levels.
  • Optimize system health and stability through automation and continuous improvement.
  • Guide creation and maintenance of reusable enterprise systems, infrastructure, and cloud technology solutions.
  • Support design of full-stack cloud and hybrid-cloud technology solutions in collaboration with application development teams.
  • Own existing technology solutions, design and proactively collaborate with key stakeholders that increase efficiency, and recommend improvements that increase resiliency, and automation, and reduce manual effort.
  • Help create roadmaps to sunset, replace, and decommission legacy implementations as new capabilities are introduced.
  • Support and maintain distributed storage technologies.
  • Develop procedures and documentation of activities making the standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Conduct security assessments, execute security patching, and implement best practices to ensure a secure and compliant environment.
  • Design, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure and services using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) to ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability focusing on High Availability (HA) and fault tolerance environment.
  • Support product infrastructure builds by installing, provisioning, and patching Dev/QA/PROD environment systems across cloud and on-prem platforms.
  • Support data backup/data recovery plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular backups, data replication, and thorough recovery testing ensuring integrity and availability of critical systems.
  • Manage Active Directory/LDAP structure to facilitate account policies, user accounts, and service role accounts.
  • Manage operating system performance and compliance for bi-annual OS patching on Linux and Solaris database servers.
  • Manage Cloud and Hybrid-Cloud laC code and dependencies, building, and maintaining Cl/CD pipelines in AWS DevOps/GitHub along with other Configuration management best practices.
