About The Position

The Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineer (SE) will be responsible for performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and/or subsystems. The Sr. Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of experience with physical architectures incorporating RF, satellite communications (SATCOM), radios, voice (RoIP, VoLP), video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Graduate Degree with four (4) years of experience with physical architectures incorporating RF, satellite communications (SATCOM), radios, voice (RoIP, VoLP), video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of experience with physical architectures incorporating RF, satellite communications (SATCOM), radios, voice (RoIP, VoLP), video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Active Top Secret with SCI.

Responsibilities

  • Understand physical architecture incorporating RF, satellite communications (SATCOM), radios, voice (RoIP, VoIP), video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
  • Troubleshooting hardware/software including RF components, SATCOM terminals, aircraft audio systems and general system level integration across multiple platforms.
  • Experience with COMSEC and Cryptographic devices.
  • Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
  • Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
  • Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
  • Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
  • Perform requirement traceability.
  • Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
  • Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
  • Identify and solve problems using logical engineering thought processes.
  • Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
  • Working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
  • Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
