About The Position

The Sr. Specialist, Systems Engineer (SE) performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and or subsystems. The Sr. Specialist SE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of Systems Engineering experience to include test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
Graduate Degree with four (4) years of Systems Engineering experience to include test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of ten (10) years of Systems Engineering experience to include test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
Must have an active Secret at the time of hire with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

Understand physical architecture incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements.
Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements.
Perform requirement traceability.
Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs.
Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
Identify and solve problems using logical engineering thought processes.
Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
Work with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers.
Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
