About The Position

L3Harris Technologies has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in Fort Wayne, IN to support a growing missile warning/missile defense business. The ideal candidate for this position will be familiar with the design, development, integration, and testing of remote sensing payloads and the modeling/simulation thereof. L3Harris is looking for Systems Engineers to help design the next generation of space systems as well as improve current on orbit systems. We are eager to review your application!

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Professional experience with data analysis and/or modeling and simulation
  • Professional experience with requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation at various levels of the system

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret (or higher) Security Clearance
  • Experience with software development language(s), such as C/C++ or Python
  • Experience as part of a multi-discipline technical team
  • Inter-personal and communication skills, ability to interact with a cross functional team
  • Collaboration across all levels of leadership
  • Experience with estimating and managing costs
  • Experience architecting, analyzing, developing, and integrating end to end systems in areas such as EO/IR, RF, or space payload and spacecraft bus subsystems
  • Experience with active remote sensing payloads
  • Knowledge of satellite communication protocols and standards
  • Familiarity with geospatial information systems (GIS) and data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with program management, cost account management, integrated product teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead/support performance analysis for space-based remote sensors
  • Lead/support systems engineering trade studies, CONOP development, and modeling/simulation efforts
  • Develop and improve instrument documentation, processes, and test procedures
  • Lead/support requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation at various levels of the system
  • Lead/support requirements traceability and development of test plans to cover requirements
  • Lead/support integration and test of electro-optical/infrared systems and related hardware/software
  • Provide support to engineering in developing technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures, and test conformance to specifications
  • Support engineering in the verification of compliance to requirements and validate performance behavior
  • Utilize work experience to become Subject Matter Expert in the relative area
  • Obtain and maintain security clearance
