About The Position

Participates in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations. Engineer applies basic engineering design and/or analytical theory with understanding of structural analysis for application to integrated system design.

Requirements

• Requires Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical/Civil Engineering or similar with (6) years of related experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of (4) years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of (10) years of prior related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft.
• Willing to travel or relocate, if necessary.

Nice To Haves

• CAD skills are highly desired.
• Understanding of basic aircraft systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance at the Secret level which requires U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for research and development of layouts.
• Preparation of engineering drawings.
• Coordination of design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure that designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
• Use of world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools.
• Work with senior-level design engineers on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.
