Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior composite processing experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior composite processing experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior composite processing experience.
  • 5 years tape wrap composite experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in material science, composites, or related science is preferred.
  • Technical experience in the composite manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Tooling or component design using various CAD software packages.
  • 3D printing techniques and experience.
  • Master Degree or PhD preferred.
  • Experience with composite molding techniques, statistical analysis, data acquisition is a plus.
  • Composite theory, compositions, and modeling are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and implement tractable solutions to technical problems involving tape wrapped composite pressure vessels.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, standard operating procedures, quality requirements (both customer and company), and applicable safety requirements for handling composite material.
  • Prepare comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports, and presentations for customer reviews (both internal and external).
  • Support all programs in composite manufacturing.
  • Understand/review/update Standard Operating Procedures related to composite structure manufacturing.
  • Participate in all work stops, production bottleneck reviews, and failure investigations pertaining to composite manufacturing.
  • Accurately report problems, solutions, and results in concise written and oral communications.
  • Model tooling or components via CAD software and utilize 3D printing.
