In this role you will serve as Sr Specialist HR Operations and will have three primary areas of responsibility. They will be responsible for Severance Administration, serve as HR POC for Talent Advisors and SC HRBPs and will support the HR Operations PMO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • At least 3 years of HR operations or related HR experience, with demonstrated proficiency in core HR processes (e.g., onboarding, HR data management, policy interpretation).
  • Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze HR data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in HR or related field; PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification.
  • 4+ years of HR operations experience within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Hands-on experience with HR system implementations or upgrades, including requirements gathering, testing, and end-user training.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating or leading small to medium HR projects.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and documentation of work procedures for HR Operations.
  • Maintenance of project plan and documents, ensuring accuracy and updating the information as needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure necessary communications, stakeholder management and change management needs are met.
  • Coordinate and execute all HR administrative activities for reductions in force or organizational restructures, working closely with HR Operations, Legal, HR Services, Talent Advisors and Payroll.
  • Creation of all associate materials, notifications, and coordination of required PeopleSoft changes compliant with Staples severance policy.
  • Identify and implement improvements that reduce administrative burden and improve associate experience.
  • Serve as the point of escalation for severance related concerns.
  • Work with Mgr HR Operations to determine and execute projects and process improvement opportunities within HR Operations or across HR.
  • Participate in Human Resources project teams to improve processes, reduce manual work, increase efficiencies, and improve overall associate experience.
  • Execute testing plans for system updates and enhancements or projects.
  • Monitor team and stakeholder's accountability for action items and deliverables.
  • Analyze complex HR Operational issues to identify root cause, downstream impacts and ensure resolution or escalation.
  • Use high judgment to make recommendations on complex or unique situations.
  • Execute HSDL loads into HR Connect.
  • Execute HR Connect table maintenance such as: new departments, new locations, and job codes.
