This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Our Employee Benefits Presale team plays an important role in The Hartford's growth strategy, helping to drive new sales, retain customers and preserve relationships. How we tell our story is vitally important to our success. The Sr. Specialist Creative Writing will be focused on writing, editing and managing our library of sales positioning information used throughout the request for proposal and quoting process. Working in close partnership with our Employee Benefits Marketing team, this individual will support crafting and maintaining simple, easy-to-understand responses that can be used to strategically differentiate our value proposition for brokers and employers. This role will also partner with cross-functional teams of subject matter experts across operations, product, sales, service and technology to best represent benefits available from The Hartford.

Requirements

  • 5+ years Employee Benefits presale with RFP writing experience, preferred
  • Experience with online RFP response database engines/software, preferred
  • Strong project management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Superior writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to convey technical topics with clarity and excitement
  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively
  • Highly developed communication, consultative, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to embrace and maximize a changing landscape
  • Must adapt well to new technology
  • Bachelor's degree required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Request for Proposal (RFP) content library
  • Edit new RFP responses and update existing responses
  • Partner with marketing to write and craft responses
  • Prioritize RFP responses according to agreed-upon criteria
  • Collaborate with presale, marketing and sales partners to solve content gaps and redundancies
  • Conduct analysis of content library usage and provide actionable recommendations
  • Participate in strategic, creative brainstorming sessions to produce new positioning concepts and proposal content
  • Actively participate in the enterprise Writing Community of Practice, which ensures brand consistency and promotes innovation
  • Foster a comprehensive understanding of the organization by promoting effective communication and collaboration
  • Maintain proactive and effective communication regarding updates, enhancements and launches
  • Work well under pressure and within deadlines
  • Provide high level of quality assurance on all deliverables
  • Ensure brand-specific style is consistent with style, tone and focus to ensure it meets Compliance and Legal guidelines
