About The Position

Provide oversight and assurance of the Planning and Scheduling function across Nevada Projects, ensuring a consistent and quality approach to project planning and scheduling. This role is responsible for developing, monitoring, and analyzing the short - to medium - term schedules along with the long-term construction plans ensuring integration between all functions of the projects team in coordination with the EPCM contractor and the Owner's team, to support the successful execution of the project milestones and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Ensure integration with other Project Controls functions as appropriate (e.g. Cost Control for alignment of WBS to CBS).
  • Undertake benchmarking of planning data and capture of as-built schedule information / lessons learned to support continuous improvement of the Project Controls function within the Nevada Projects.
  • Understanding of project management Principles, with advanced knowledge of planning principles.
  • Expert in planning software packages, including Primavera P6 v7 or later and Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of related project controls functions including estimating, cost control, change control and reporting principles.
  • Knowledge of document control function and Electronic.
  • Can utilise the RACI and communications plan to drive project communication and gain value from effective use of these plans.
  • Can identify, recognise and acknowledge stakeholders to determining their influence and interests.
  • Can establish a communication management plan across a portfolio of projects.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking.
  • Demonstrated capability in organising work, setting priorities and exercising sound independent judgement.
  • Sound understanding of components and key drivers of the mining value chain.
  • Strong ability to lead and work effectively with people.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field.
  • PMP qualification or in process of attaining.
  • Knowledge of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational constraints.
  • Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years' experience of scheduling, mine engineering, or project controls experience in mining or related field.
  • Minimum seven to ten years as a Scheduler working in capital management and reporting within the mining industry.
  • Familiarity with internationally accepted best practice project management techniques and principles.
  • This role requires a valid driver's license to drive company vehicle to and from the project site.
  • Must have valid U.S. work authorization to be considered

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the integrated project schedules in line with the project WBS using software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Assist the Senior Managers for Process, Engineering, Mining, Procurement, Sustainability and Permitting in the planning and compilation of the project schedule, ensuring adherence to standards and guidelines.
  • Owner of maintaining the schedule plan and basis of schedule in coordination with the EPCM
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedules and identify potential delays or risks that impact the completion of the project timeline.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis and propose mitigation strategies
  • Be accountable to work alongside the Specialist Project Estimator/Cost controller to ensure the specific project's monies are cash-flowed according to the approved project task schedule.
  • Implement systems that will ensure the cost forecast, and the schedule are aligned.
  • Keep project resources on track, providing regular project updates against plan, highlighting variances, recommending corrective actions against associated risks that hinder completion of the project to include but not limited to: Equipment Fleet, Processing Facilities, Warehouse and other Construction related activities.
  • Understand the AGA End to End Capital Management Process and ensure compliance to this when performing scheduling projects and studies.
  • Support preparation of progress reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders and senior management
  • Recognize potential barriers to the project and bring forth mitigation risks along with contributing to the change management by assessing schedule impacts of scope or design modifications.
