About The Position

The NC Programmer is responsible for writing new CNC programs, setup instructions, estimating and making changes to existing CNC programs. Will develop, write and maintain NC programs for complex aerospace components using engineering models, drawings and specifications to support a zero defects machining operations environment. Selects program routines for the most efficient machining methods for each part. Will be involved in the prove out of new technology, first article inspection, fixture design, and day to day programming using Siemens NX12 CAM or Master-CAM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master CAM 2022 experience preferred
  • DMU Mori with Siemens 840D Experience; Specifically DMU80 FD and DMU65
  • NX Post Builder expertise.
  • NX Machine tool Configurator expertise.
  • Fanuc custom macro programming expertise.
  • Siemens NX12, NX1992, or Master-CAM NC Programming experience.
  • Siemens 840D macro programming expertise.
  • Expertise in Lathe, Mill-turn, and 5 axis Mill programming of high temp alloy materials.
  • Vericut experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes engineering models/drawings to define the sequence of machining operations to ensure that the design intent and component quality is achieved.
  • Use machine simulation and optimization software (Vericut) to troubleshoot/validate CNC programs and ensure highly efficient and 100% defect-free FTT machining processes.
  • Modify existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
  • Make proper cutting tool selections, taking into consideration such factors as materials, speeds, type of cutters, feeds and control system limitations.
  • Work closely with Machinists, Quality, Engineering, Management and other team members.
  • Develop, write and maintain type II probe and logic macros to perform on machine touch probe measuring, fixture updates, cutter offset updates, and part feature data collection.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and cross training activity within the NC programming group.
