About The Position

The Supply Chain Senior Specialist will support procurement needs for various sites. This role involves representing the Supply Chain department on assigned project sub-teams and executing supply chain production activities with general guidance. The specialist will participate in quality investigations, implement process improvements, execute purchase orders, and coordinate material deliveries. They will also be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment, supplies, and services, preparing purchase orders, monitoring their lifecycle, and providing feedback to stakeholders on any issues that may present risks to plans. Additionally, the specialist may negotiate schedules, delivery, costs, and terms, and will work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality, delivery, or financial issues. The role includes compiling and analyzing supplier performance data, maintaining purchasing master data, and participating in the development of purchasing processes and tools. The specialist may also train and coach new team members and will focus on immediate business needs while engaging in continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Manufacturing Operations-related disciplines
  • 2+ years relevant work experience
  • Certificate / Associates Degree with 6+ years' relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness
  • Distinguished record of delivering on critical project goals
  • Ability to contribute to complex contract negotiations
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of the company
  • Good understanding of the medical device and biotech industry and market
  • Experience with quality management systems (change controls, deviations, etc)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment
  • Experience working in a start-up environment

Responsibilities

  • Represents Supply Chain department on assigned project sub-teams and executes supply chain production activities
  • Participates in quality investigations by providing research and analyses
  • Implements process improvements to reduce lead-time and eliminate non-value-added activities
  • Executes purchase orders for suppliers and coordinates material deliveries
  • Purchases materials, equipment, supplies, and services following prescribed regulations and procedures
  • Prepares purchase orders and order schedules, monitoring and maintaining them throughout their lifecycle
  • May perform or aid others in negotiation of schedule, delivery, cost, terms, etc.
  • Works with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality, delivery, or financial issues
  • Provides timely disposition of non-conforming materials and maintains supplier performance measurements
  • Compiles and analyzes supplier performance data to enable evaluation and ensure contract compliance
  • Interfaces with strategic sourcing to improve surety of supply, supplier development, program spending, and cost reduction/avoidance
  • Collaborates with other purchasing professionals and cross-functional stakeholders for continuous improvement
  • Maintains purchasing master data; lead time, pricing, approved vendors, etc.
  • Participates in the development and improvement of purchasing processes, standard work, and tools
  • May train and coach new or less experienced team members
  • Focuses on immediate and urgent business needs while remaining engaged in continuous improvement
  • Prioritizes and performs assignments independently to satisfy required timelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Performs appropriate transactions in the iProcurement system
  • Receives inventory into ERP and resolves documentation issues
  • Maintains strong cross-functional relationships to bolster communication with internal and external stakeholders
