About The Position

As an Analytical Operations – Sr Specialist at BMS, your work will ensure the reliable operations of our data assets to stakeholders, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and accessible data to consumers—such as analysts and data scientists—in a rapid and continuous fashion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in data engineering, full stack development or cloud engineering.
• Works independently.
• Responsible for the direct management of a cross functional team including results/outcomes.
• Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly in Python and SQL.
• Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to troubleshoot data challenges.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
• Adaptability: Eagerness to learn and adopt new tools and technologies in a rapidly evolving field.
• Attention to Detail: Commitment to data quality, security, and process documentation.
• Proactivity: Self-motivated and able to identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives autonomously.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in data engineering, DevOps, or DataOps is preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and their data services (e.g., AWS S3, Glue, Lambda) will be a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that analytics assets (data pipelines and data models) are reliably and efficiently deployed and maintained in production.
• Monitor and Troubleshoot: Set up monitoring dashboards and alerts to proactively track the performance and health of data pipelines, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Enhance Performance and Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, efficiency, and resource usage to manage costs and improve scalability
• Implement CI/CD for Data: Apply continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to data pipelines, allowing for the rapid, reliable deployment of new data models and features.
• Demonstrate a focus on improving processes, structures and knowledge within the team.
• Lead in analyzing current states, deliver strong recommendations in understanding complexity in the environment, and the ability to execute to bring complex solutions to completion.
